Salem stop on Monday

People heading to Portland for the Monday State Board meeting are encouraged to make a stop over in Salem for a brief rally. It is clear that the only person in a position to alter the path we are on is the Governor, so his should be the primary ear we seek.

Probably better to plan a time on the way up rather than on the way down, but we will need to see what starts developing. If it is to happen before the meeting, then the rally in Salem would probably need to start at 12:30 to allow adequate time to get to the 3:00 Board meeting.

If the 1:30 rally in Portland whips into shape, then it might be better for the Salem rally to start at 11:30.

An evening Salem rally would be a bit more difficult to plan because we do not know what the dynamics of the 3:00 Board meeting will be and how long it will take. Probably 6 pm would be safest, but that is too late for the evening news cycle (except for a live feed, I guess).

Again, this is now a purely political process, so the political stakes need to be raised. By the same token, supporters of the UO need to be sure not to make any missteps that provide the Governor cover on this.
